John Nickerson
John Nickerson founded Phoenix-based COZA Technologies, LLC in 1990 as specialists in the management and strategic application of information technology and data center design. Serving Fortune 100 companies in healthcare, financial services, and technology industries, the company addresses complex client issues, providing organizational assessments, interim management, applications development, infrastructure design, and program and project management.
Mr. Nickerson with his team of senior consultants has developed an industry reputation for excellence, assisting clients in achieving and sustaining their business objectives; ensuring clients recognize full value from their information technology and facility investments; and building relationships and value one client at a time.
With focus on adding value to every engagement, Mr. Nickerson assigns experienced professionals with years of practical frontline experience across multiple industries, including international assignments. His consultants are all former IT executives—chief information officers, directors and managers. Drawing from his many years of success as an operating manager / corporate and management consultant, Mr. Nickerson places emphasis on a team approach, involving his clients’ key personnel to support critical areas of expertise and knowledge with COZA senior consultants leading initiatives and driving results.
As Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Best Western International, he was responsible for all information services functions and telecommunications worldwide, developing a worldwide reservations systems. He served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for MPI (Marketing-Performance-Innovation, the largest U.S. direct marketing company at the time), a subsidiary of United Airlines. While there, he managed all information technology and telecommunications, developing and overseeing United’s MileagePlus frequent flyer program.
Mr. Nickerson's educational background includes a BBA in marketing from Texas Tech University, enhanced by completion of the IBM President's Class at Harvard University and the executive Management Program at Stanford University. He is a committee member of the U.S. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and a meaningful contributor to Ronald McDonald House. In the past, he served on the boards of the Hotel Clearing Corporation, Dallas, Texas, and Junior Achievement of Arizona in Phoenix.
